Our preschoolers went on an Adventure this week to Ecklof Bakery and Jamestown Bowling Company. They started off with a behind the scenes tour of the bakery, seeing how things worked, smelling all the delicious smells, and enjoying the famous pink striped cookies. The kids will be able to take what they learned at Ecklof’s and apply it to the bakery dramatic play center later this month. The next stop on their Adventure was bowling! The kids have been practicing their bowling skills at the bowling alley dramatic play center at school and were ready to put their skills to the test. They had a blast trying to knock over all of the pins and loved the extra cheesy pizza for lunch!

Our elementary students have truly outshone themselves in the "Cardinal Kindness Challenge" that took place throughout January! With hearts full of kindness and compassion, our students set an ambitious goal of completing 3,000 kind acts. We're thrilled to announce that they not only met but soared past it, completing a whopping 6,168 acts of kindness!
We couldn't be prouder of their incredible efforts and the positive impact they've made on our school community. Thank you to each and every student who participated, spreading joy and warmth throughout the month. Your kindness has created a ripple effect that will be felt for a long time.

At the start of this school year, we kicked off Phase 1 of the RCS Capital Improvement Project. Our construction management firm, Campus Construction, appointed Mr. David Rowe as the Project Manager. With plans in full swing, Mr. Rowe found himself in need of a crucial element for his office, a drafting table. Traditionally, this piece is supplied by the general contractor but given that phase 1 focused on roofing and site work, a carpenter was not part of the immediate team.
Enter our innovative Superintendent, Mr. Kelly, who reached out to our high school tech teacher, Mr. Freeman. Recognizing an opportunity for collaboration, Mr. Freeman turned to his talented students for a special project.
Drew Hind and Allen Root, both members of Mr. Freeman's advanced manufacturing class, eagerly accepted the challenge. Armed with basic specs from Mr. Rowe, the duo delved into discussions and design calculations, creating a plan that would soon come to life.
In just one month, Drew and Allen transformed a vision into reality, crafting a drafting table that not only met specifications but exceeded expectations. This project showcases the power of collaboration and the exceptional skills within our student body.
