Lead Water Testing

On September 6, 2016, the Governor signed into law legislation requiring all public schools in the state to test their drinking water fixtures for lead. The Randolph Central School District recently completed this testing in both the Elementary and Middle/High School.  We sampled all drinking fountains, sinks and other water fixtures and are awaiting results.

Rest assured if any of our tests come back showing lead level in the drinking water greater than 15 parts per billion (ppb) we will immediately develop a corrective action plan and put it into action in order to protect our most precious asset, our children.

Call Kaine Kelly at (716) 358-7005, if you have any questions regarding the water testing. We will keep parents, students and staff informed by posting updates on our website and in our newsletters.

For more information on lead in drinking water, excellent information can be obtained through the Cattaraugus County Health Department.

For more information on reducing lead exposure around your home/building and the health effects of lead, visit EPA's web site, or call the National Lead Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD.
