Attendance
In an effort to accurately track attendance, the elementary school has created the following procedures to streamline communication with families around student absences. We ask that you follow these procedures when reporting you child absent. The school is required, by New York State, to track and report both excused and unexcused absences.
In an effort to keep parents informed on their child’s absences, we will be sending letters home if a student reaches certain thresholds.
There is an explanation below regarding the process for reporting an absence. These procedures are only for reporting absences. All early releases need to be communicated with a note to the teacher or a phone call to the attendance office at 716-358-7031.
For all absences, please use the following email address: elemabsent@randolphcsd.org or call the attendance office at (716) 358-7031 to notify the school of an absence.
Extended absences, of more than 2 days, should also be communicated to the attendance office.
Students will be marked tardy if they arrive after 8:05am. All tardies will require an excuse from a parent/guardian.
Please note, the school cannot excuse any absence/tardy without written notification from a parent/guardian.
Classroom teachers take attendance at 8:05am, teachers then receive attendance report from the attendance office by 9:00am.
Attendance automated calls notifying parents their child is absent, begin at 9:37am.
After 2 consecutive unexcused absences, health/attendance office calls home.
After 3 consecutive unexcused absences, health office notifies SRO & Administration.
The SRO & Administration make home visits if necessary.
